The Design Process
How I design your perfect pond or garden

Initial Consultation
After an initial phone call, I will ideally meet you on site to discuss your wishes face to face, take photos, soil samples and prepare a brief.I may also ask you to fill out a simple questionnaire after our meeting just so that I have a working template of your requirements and we have all areas covered.
Survey
Depending on the size of your plot, I will either carry out a measured survey or contract a local specialist to carry out a topographical survey. This ensures that we are starting the design with known distances and levels. It is a crucial part of the process and will allow me to understand your plot and model it in 3D if neccessary.

Concept Plan
The fun begins! I will work with you to agree a concept design. This is generally a hand drawn rough sketch so that we can agree what should go where, which areas are to be planted and where the hard landscaping would go.It is an iterative process and will help you start to see your plans come to life!
Detail Design
Once we have agreed the Concept Plan, I will create a set of detailed design documents. These will detail hard landscaping elements and electrical and lighting layouts. They are the basis of your tender document to receive quotes from professional landscape companies.

Build
Once you have accepted a quote, I will be on hand to help with your build should any queries arise, or manage the landscapers myself should you require it.
Planting Design
Once the hard landscaping is complete, it is time to plant! I will prepare a plating schedule in partnership with you to create the garden of your dreams.
